1 - A pen point has to be broken-in. A new pen point will usually blob the first time
you use it. First you have to get the oil off of the pen point. A little paint
thinner or a match will do the job. Now spend at least ten minutes making lines
on a piece of paper.
2 - Make down and side strokes. never make up strokes.
3 - Do not dip the pen too deep in the ink. You will have better control if you do
not have too much ink
on your pen.
4 - Pen and ink work best on a smooth surface paper or Bristol board.
5 - If possible ink from top left to bottom right.
6 - Turn your work when inking.
7 - A pen needs more pressure than a brush.
8 - Pen lines take longer to dry than brush lines.
9 - Do not waste your time looking for the perfect pen point. I don't think there
is such a thing!
10 - After inking clean your pen in a good pen cleaning fluid.
